An MCS endpoint is a read-only query on your MCS database that a
Look up in MCS step can run, such as "the supplier's
purchase order". Open Settings, MCS endpoints. You need the Manage fields and MCS
lookups permission.
The list
| Section | What it holds |
|---|
| Standard endpoints | The endpoints that come with Rent Stream AI. View only |
| Your endpoints | Your company's own |
Each endpoint shows whether it is installed on your live and test MCS (Installed, Missing,
Different, Login refused, Open without login, Not checked), and how many live workflows
use it.
Endpoints that come with Rent Stream AI
| Endpoint | What it does |
|---|
| Find contact | Finds the customer, supplier or prospect account for an email address. Used by Identify the contact |
| Get depots | Lists your depots. Used by Settings, Depots |
| Describe | Lets Rent Stream AI check which endpoints are installed |
| Supplier's purchase order | Finds an open purchase order for the identified supplier, with its goods total |
| Supplier's purchase order lines | The open lines of that purchase order |
What you can do
| To | Select | What happens |
|---|
| See what is installed | Check connection | Every endpoint's status is updated |
| Install or update on MCS | Download install script (live or test) | A script that adds missing endpoints and updates changed ones. It never removes one. Run it on MCS, then check again. Needs the Manage the MCS connection permission |
| Add your own | Add endpoint | Opens the endpoint editor |
| Copy to another company | Export to a file, then Import from a file in the other company | Shows what will be added and changed before anything is saved |
| Bring in endpoints already on MCS | Import from MCS | Lists endpoints on MCS that are not set up here, ready to finish |
The endpoint editor
| Tab | What you set |
|---|
| About | Label, description, name and how many rows to expect |
| SQL | The query. It is checked when you save: it may only read |
| Parameters | What the endpoint searches by. A parameter can be set to the identified contact's MCS code, so it is always filled from the sender MCS recognised, never from what they wrote |
| Columns | What comes back, with each column's type and whether it holds personal data |
| Sorts | The orders results can be sorted in |
| Try it | Enter values, and see the rows that come back |
An endpoint a live workflow uses can have its query, label and sorts changed, but not its
name, parameters or columns. Use Save as new endpoint to change those without breaking
running workflows. Remove endpoint is not allowed while a live workflow uses it.
