MCS connection
Rent Stream AI talks to your MCS system in two ways:
| Part | What it does |
|---|---|
| MCS-connect | Reads from MCS: who a sender is, and anything a Look up in MCS step asks for |
| XML gateway and webhook | Creates records in MCS, and receives MCS's confirmation with each new record's number |
Open Settings, MCS connection. You need the Manage the MCS connection permission. There are Live and Test tabs, so you can also connect an MCS test system.
MCS-connect
| Setting | What it is |
|---|---|
| MCS-connect address | The address of your MCS-connect |
| How MCS-connect checks who is calling | Fixed login, sent in headers (recommended). Fixed login, sent in the address. None. The site default |
| Login name and Password | For a fixed login. Once saved, they show as dots |
Select Save changes, then Check connection to confirm Rent Stream AI can reach MCS.
A new login must be approved by a second admin before it is used. It waits in Settings, Approvals.
XML gateway and webhook
| Setting | What it is |
|---|---|
| Gateway address | Where Rent Stream AI sends records to create |
| Webhook address | Where MCS sends its confirmations. Read only: give it to MCS |
| API key | The key MCS uses when it calls the webhook |
The API key is shown once, when it is made, with Show, Copy and Download webhook script to set up MCS. Select I have copied it when done. Replace API key makes a new one.
Our reference in MCS
Custom field name or ID: a custom field in your MCS where Rent Stream AI writes the work item reference on every record it creates. This lets you trace any record back to the work item that made it. Leave it empty to send no reference.
Depots
Your depots are read from MCS. In Settings, Depots, select Sync from MCS after adding or renaming a depot in MCS. Each depot shows as In use or Not in use.
