Publishing​

Select Publish. It is switched off while there are problems to fix or unsaved changes. The confirmation says: "New work items use this version. Work items already open stay on the version they started with."

If the new version has fewer A person approves steps than the live one, a second admin must approve it in Settings, Approvals before it goes live.

Turning on and off​

After the first publish, Turn on and Turn off appear at the top of the workflow.

  • A workflow only takes mail when it is published and on. While it is not, mail for it waits in To sort, and the editor says so.
  • Turning a workflow back on after it has already handled work needs a second admin.

Versions​

The Versions tab lists every version, who published it and when, and which one is in use.

  • Compare with live lists what was added, removed or changed.
  • Make live again makes an earlier version live. New work items use it from then on; open work items stay on their version, and any draft in progress is kept. It must pass today's checks, and going back to a version with fewer A person approves steps needs a second admin.
